DES Leadership Transition
 
Brooksville, Fla. – Deltona Elementary School Principal Julie Sweeney has announced her resignation effective Mar. 6. Sweeney stated that she made the difficult decision so she could enjoy more time with family.
 
Sweeney has served throughout the district for more than 13 years in teaching and administrative capacities.
 
“I have enjoyed my time being a part of the DES family and will miss the wonderful staff and community, but I am certainly looking forward to spending quality time with my new grandchild,” said Sweeney. 
 
Toni Ann Noyes, a 30 year HCSD veteran and the recently retired principal of Nature Coast Technical High School, will serve as the interim principal while the district interviews for the position.
