Mrs. Giraldo
Mrs. Sandra Giraldo brings more than 20 years of educational experience to Deltona Elementary School. Her career began in the classroom as an elementary teacher, where she developed a passion for helping students reach their full potential through engaging instruction, strong relationships, and high expectations. Over the years, she expanded her impact by serving as a teacher leader, ESOL Instructional Specialist, and school administrator, supporting students, teachers, and families across elementary, middle, and high school settings.
Mrs. Giraldo earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Florida Atlantic University and her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Barry University. She is certified in Educational Leadership, Elementary Education, Spanish, ESOL, and Gifted Education. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to fostering inclusive learning environments, strengthening instructional practices, and creating opportunities for all students to succeed.
Before joining Deltona Elementary as Principal, Mrs. Giraldo served as Assistant Principal at Hernando High School, John I. Leonard High School, and Loggers' Run Middle School. She also supported 15 schools as an ESOL Instructional Specialist for the School District of Palm Beach County, helping schools improve student achievement and instructional practices.
A bilingual educator and leader, Mrs. Giraldo believes that strong partnerships between schools, families, and the community are essential to student success. She is passionate about creating a school culture where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to learn. As Principal of Deltona Elementary, she looks forward to working together to ensure every student thrives and reaches their fullest potential.
Outside of school, Mrs. Giraldo enjoys spending time with her family. She has been married for 24 years and is the proud mother of three sons. Her family remains her greatest source of inspiration and reinforces her commitment to supporting children and families every day.

Mrs. Crawford
With a career in education spanning more than 30 years, Mrs. Crawford has dedicated her professional life to supporting students, empowering teachers, and fostering positive school communities. Her educational journey began in 1994 with the Diocese of Brooklyn, where she taught Pre-K, 1st grade, 3rd grade, and middle school social studies.
In 2000, she joined New York City Public Schools, serving for over two decades in a variety of roles including kindergarten, first grade, second grade, inclusion, gifted education, and instructional coaching. During her final five years in New York City, she served as an Instructional ELA Coach, supporting teachers in strengthening literacy instruction and improving student outcomes across classrooms.
In 2021, Mrs. Crawford relocated to Florida to continue her commitment to educational leadership. She served as a Dean at Fox Chapel Middle School for two years before joining Deltona Elementary School in 2024 as Assistant Principal.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Crawford has been guided by a deep belief in the power of education to transform lives. She is passionate about building strong relationships with students, families, and staff and values the opportunity to serve diverse communities and exceptional learners each day. She strives to create an environment where every student feels seen, supported, and challenged to reach their fullest potential.
Mrs. Crawford holds master’s degrees in General Education, Special Education, and Educational Leadership. She is committed to leading with purpose, compassion, and a relentless focus on student success, ensuring that all students have the opportunities and support they need to thrive.
